As a college student, it is often hard to juggle things like school, work and friends… let alone a nutritional diet. The freshman fifteen is no stranger to incoming students and although the dining halls are often accessible and tasty, they are often not the healthiest options. With new health initiatives, such as getting rid of the trays or trying to serve students meals with lower salt percentages, eating healthy is still a very problematic task. Odyssey Nutrition is here to change that.
Odyssey Nutrition is a smoothie experience located at 30 East State Street, in Athens, Ohio. Part-owner Zane Summers explained the process of Odyssey Nutrition. “Before each smoothie, each customer gets a complimentary aloe and herbal tea that works as kind of an immune and digestive kickstarter. Then you pick your smoothie flavor.”
As a relatively new business, Odyssey Nutrition is already making quite a name for itself. Created by former student and athlete, Stephen Adams, Odyssey Nutrition is trying to make healthy living (and eating) more accessible to students.
“Odyssey was a really unique place and the shake was really good!” said first-time Odyssey Nutrition customer, Amanda Brown, a freshman English major.
Odyssey Nutrition is not only delicious but it is also incredibly affordable. There are over 35 flavors to try, ranging from fruity to sweet (like the Peppermint Patty smoothie). All of the flavors are plant-based and do not contain dairy.
Happy hour happens at Odyssey every Monday through Friday 2-4 p.m. Odyssey also has a special promotion if you use Facebook’s “check-in” feature or tag them in an Instagram story.
Not only by going to Odyssey will you receive great customer service and a tasty smoothie, but you will also be helping out a local business! So next time you’re hangry stop by Odessy Nutrition to pick up a delicious — and healthy — smoothie.
Odyssey Nutrition is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon-2 p.m.
