The Hands Up Walk Out protest was in response to the recent tensions between civilians and police, specifically among black youth.

Andrew Carf: When I first came to school, I was kind of against the fraternity culture because of horror stories about hazing and binge drinking. I was a sheltered incoming freshman, but then, once I was brought around to the guys of Phi Delta
Theta by my freshman roommate, I discovered that that’s really not what it’s all about. We have our fun, but that’s a small portion of what we do.

From Strangers to Dinner with Family

Ten students and two alumni nervously sat down for a fine Cuban dinner on Oct. 8. All twelve were strangers. After less than two hours, both the students and alumni walked away with new insight and eleven new Bobcat family members.
